Heather Kafka began acting at age 6.

Born and raised in Austin, Texas she moved to Los Angeles after high school where she would attend and graduate from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She would spend the next 15 years living and carving out a career in LA.

But ultimately, Austin always called her home and in 2007, she returned to produce some of her best work to date.

In a career now spanning 30 years, she’s starred in MTV’s first-ever scripted show AUSTIN STORIES, had multiple major television guest-starring roles and worked on independent films competing in festivals from Sundance to Tribeca. She starred in the Independent Spirit Award-nominated and Sundance Competition selected feature LOVERS OF HATE. She’s worked alongside Gary Sinise, Harry Dean Stanton, Keanu Reeves, Tim Roth, Natalie Portman, William Peterson, Lance Henriksen, Richard Linklater, Terrence Malick, and most recently Nicolas Cage for David Gordon Green’s JOE.

She worked throughout multiple seasons in a recurring role on Ava DuVernay’s series QUEEN SUGAR and recently wrapped filming on the feature NO FUTURE with Catherine Keener.  She is currently playing Florence Hammersley on the Taylor Sheridan produced BASS REEVES.
